A course on electronic marketing named "Introduction to e-Marketing" is currently finalized. Its pedagogical objectives are:

a) to demonstrate the importance of electronic marketing in tourism promotion;

b) to give to participants the necessary basics for the development of an integrated strategy in electronic marketing.

This innovative course has been built around distance learning concepts. Self-learning and self-organisation are key words of the distance learning (DL) principle. The pedagogical material of the Electronic marketing course is developed in two versions: one which is oriented to face-to-face seminars, the other responding to the DL requirements. These two versions address complementary ways of knowledge dissemination.

The course, available in French and in English, has been developed thanks to a partnership with the Ministry of Tourism of Quebec (Canada).

Its face-to-face version was done for the very first time in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia, on 15 - 16 March 2007, as an entry point for the conference Asia-Pacific: E-Tourism for Growth / matching market efficiency and social inclusion.
