In Nicaragua

At the end of the Programme the following activities will have been carried out in Nicaragua:
- Undertake six reports in selected sectors
- With the support of international and regional consultants, organize one training seminar for 50 national participants on the contents of the competition law and the manner in which it will be implemented.
- Prepare recommendations for the functional structure and organization of the competition agency, including its relationship with other governmental bodies.
On the basis of other countries’ experience, and taking into account local needs and conditions, prepare the terms of reference for the new staff of the competition agency.
- Develop a consumer protection strategy to incorporate consumer protection issues into the curricula of primary and secondary schools, and raise awareness of these issues through the media.
- Prepare and implement a plan to create a service centre for consumers in a local university/local enforcement offices in selected municipalities.
