In a second phase, after a feasibility study, the project could take various forms and will start in the beneficiary countries. In every case, Governments have to address an official request to the Secretary General of UNCTAD.

On this base, and according to the financial possibilities of UNCTAD, an assessment mission will go to the country in order to evaluate the situation, to gather existing information on on-going activities and processes in the field of e-tourism, identify underlying problems and preoccupations, identify national priorities at short, medium and long term, propose and discuss activities to be undertaken, regarding UNCTAD's mandate and expertise.

The activities planned target the following fields:

• Raising awareness on the opportunities, stakes, challenges, and impact of ICTs in the tourism sector;
• Support the development of national capacities, and the appropriation of appropriate tools;
• Support the dialogue between private and public sector, essential to build a dynamic and attractive tourism offer;
• Support the crystallization of institutional mechanisms;
• To promote relevant systems of tourism offer, adapted to actual or potential tourists' behaviors.
