The E-Tourism Initiative is structured around a tool, a method and a partnership-building approach.
The tool is a country platform aimed at helping developing countries identify, standardize, coordinate and propose tourism services in response to varying world demand.
The Initiative also provides a method for collecting the relevant information, standardizing it and disseminating it on the Internet. The aim of the method is to encourage active cooperation among partners, and learning and capacities enhancement, in order to promote sustainable development.
Partnerships will enable all concerned stakeholders to coordinate their resources and objectives. They may be formed in the private sector (private-private), in the public sector (public-public) or between the private and public sectors.
