Global Entrepreneurship Week at the United Nations, Geneva

This year, the United Nations community will jointly celebrate the Global Entrepreneurship Week for the first time in Geneva.

To mark the occasion, a series of workshops, talks and events will be hosted at the Palais des Nations (E-Building, Bar Serpent) from 16 to 20 November 2009.

Following a high-profile launch event, the participating agencies (including the International Labour Organization, the International Trade Centre, UNCTAD, the United Nations Development Programme and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) will showcase their work in the field of promoting entrepreneurship and innovation to United Nations staff, including young interns, as well as a wide range of external visitor groups from schools, universities and businesses.

The Global Entrepreneurship Week is an international initiative to unleash young people´s ideas on issues that matter most to present day society, ranging from poverty reduction to climate change, as well as to foster a global culture which recognizes entrepreneurs as drivers of economic and social prosperity.

The campaign aims to give young people the confidence, skills and ambition to make their ideas happen, to create sustainable enterprises that have a positive impact on their lives, their families and communities.

The Global Entrepreneurship Week is an initiative of the Kauffman Foundation and Make Your Mark.
