Launching activity B.1.2 with the study of the impact of imports of used clothing
This activity will try to identify...

... whether anti-competitive practices exist in the selected sectors or markets.  To this end, four market studies will be undertaken on the following issues:

(i) Impact of imports of used clothing on the national textile industry;
(ii) The level of competition in the surface transport sector;
(iii) Economic concentration in the production chain of oil products;
(iv) The level of competence of financial entities.

These studies will demonstrate the existence of anti-competitive practices and the way in which enforcing general legislation can have repercussions on the degree of
competition.

Once such practices have been identified and analysed in the studies, policy recommendations will be provided with a view to reducing the negative impact of such  practices, should there be any.  The case studies will also constitute supporting documentation for the preliminary phase in the investigation of anti-competitive practices by the relevant authorities.  It is also expected that they will serve as basic material for increasing awareness of the need to introduce competition policy in all the sectors in Bolivia.
