... in the field of consumer protection and member of the El Salvador Project Management Committee, has designed a strategy to promote consumer rights at national level. The objective of the activity is to sensitize national legislators and relevant sectors of the civil society on consumer protection issues, and specifically on the new proposed law.

In this regard, several workshops will be organised during 2005 aiming at:

1. Sensitizing national legislators on the importance of approving the law proposal.
2. Obtain the support of sectors for the approval of the law proposal.
3. Disseminate the new law for consumer protection in order to facilitate its implementation. 

The remainder of the workshops will aim at continuing the dissemination and implementation of the law proposal.

By the end of 2007, it is expected to have sensitized an important number of consumer and businessmen in Salvador on consumer protection issues.
