On 13 and 14 March 2007, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) will hold a two-day sub-regional conference entitled "Asia-Pacific: e-Tourism for Growth - Matching Market Efficiency and Social Inclusion" at the Sutera Harbour Resort in the city of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.

The objective of the conference is to promote and contribute to growth and empowerment in the region through the implementation of Information and Communication technologies in the tourism sector. In order to reach this goal, UNCTAD will be joined by other relevant international organizations, governments, civil society and business community high-level representatives who will share their experience over the two-day event. Guest speakers will address a number of key issues on e-tourism and development.

This event is organized in close cooperation with the Malaysian government, the Sabah Tourism Board and other partners, including the Yayasan Sabah Group and the German Agency for Technical Cooperation.
