Shangri-La's Tanjung Aru, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah
An e-Tourism Initiative seminar on "Introduction to e-Marketing" will be held in Kota Kinabalu, State of Sabah, Malaysia.
Its objectives are to provide participants with relevant instruments for assessing the opportunities and impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in the marketing of the tourism sector, and to highlight the different responsibilities of parties involved in the definition of a national e-marketing strategy for development.
Participants will approach different methods to understand the influence of brand image on a tourist destination, to identify the main forms of marketing recommended by International Destination Management Organizations, as well as to define the e-marketing practices that apply to the tourism sector. The target population is composed of Government officials in charge of the design and implementation of e-marketing strategies in the tourism sector as well as private / public entities active in the promotion of sustainable tourism.
This seminar will be the first of its kind to be held, thanks to the sponsoring of the Sabah State Government (with the support of the Yayasan Sabah Group). It will be available in early April 2007 in a Distance Learning version, thanks to the TrainforTrade methodology.
