 The UNCTAD XI E-tourism Initiative was presented during the World Tourism Organization's Tourism Policy Forum held in Washington DC, from 18 to 21 October.
The Initiative focuses on the development and implementation of ICT-based tools that will help communities tap the international market by strengthening local institutional and human capacities and promoting local involvement and ownership. Its activities encourage the development and participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in global ICT-related work, and enhance local capacity to organize and promote the tourism sector.
